The high entropy alloy material comprises Cr, Mn, Fe, Co and Ni; the invention further discloses the method for welding metal using the Cr-Mn-Fe-Co-Ni high entropy alloy material, and the method comprises the steps of base metal preparation, welding preparation, welding and post processing. The Cr-Mn-Fe-Co-Ni high entropy alloy material has strong 'diffusion retarding effect' and 'high entropy effect' in the high temperature condition, friability intermetallic compound generated in the welding area can be effectively avoided, the mechanical property of a welded structure is improved, the alloy cost is low, shapes of welding materials can be suitable for the requirements of complex varied welded joint appearance, the applicability is wide, and using is convenient and effective.
