The preparation method of the compound comprises the following steps that dimethyl isophthalate and neopentyl glycol of which the molar ratio is 1mol:(4-15mol) react for 5-12 hours at 170-200 DEG C in the presence of a catalyst titanate; after the reaction is completed, excess neopentyl glycol is steamed out, and a crude product is subjected to column chromatography purification or is recrystallized in a solvent to obtain an iso-phthalic-bis(3-hydroxy-2,2-dimethyl propyl) ester product.
