The invention discloses a hydraulic control system with a limp function, and an automatic transmission using the hydraulic control system. The hydraulic control system is composed of a high pressure oil circuit, a control oil circuit, a gearshift oil circuit, a locking and separating oil circuit and a lubricating oil circuit. Through control over the on-off states of five hydraulic actuating mechanisms, switching among P/R/N/D gears is achieved, wherein the D gears include D1/D2/D3/D4/D5/D6 gears. The working state of each actuating mechanism is controlled through a solenoid valve, wherein thesolenoid valves for controlling a first clutch, a third brake, a fourth brake and a fifth brake are all proportional normally closed valves; and the solenoid valve for controlling a second clutch isa proportional normally opened valve.
