The invention provides a method for modifying host configuration based on distributed containers, which comprises the following steps of specifying a configuration file of each distributed container wherein the configuration file at least comprises a configuration item of each distributed container and a container name of the corresponding distributed container; obtaining URLs of the hosts where the distributed containers are located, and recording the URLs of the hosts where the containers are located into the configuration files; traversing a host corresponding to the recorded URL on the configuration file to remotely connect with a corresponding host, and generating a corresponding container client instance; copying the configuration files into the corresponding containers through the container client instances, and covering the original configuration files to modify the host configuration of the containers.
