The invention relates to a hook and knife assembly for a cut loop pile knitting machine. The hook and knife assembly comprises a crochet hook assembly and a cutting knife. The crochet hook assembly comprises a hook lower section and two hook upper sections, and the two hook upper sections are symmetrically arranged at the upper ends of the hook lower section; the cutting knife is arranged betweenthe two hook upper sections, the upper end of the hook lower section is inwards provided with a knife groove corresponding to the lower part of the cutting knife, and the lower part of the cutting knife is slidably inserted into the knife groove.
