The energy management method comprises the following steps: (S100) obtaining working condition of a hybrid energy storage type tram system; (S200) performing sectional processing on the working condition according to time points; (S300) finding a solution for each working condition section according to an online convex programming model, and obtaining an optimal output power ratio of the hybrid energy storage type tram system at each time; (S400) performing energy distribution on the hybrid energy storage type tram system according to the obtained optimal output power ratio. The energy management method of the hybrid energy storage type tram based on online convex programming performs optimal distribution of power source output power based on the current state of an energy storage component, thereby achieving high energy efficiency and low running cost of the hybrid energy storage type
