Firstly, a gob-side entry retaining supporting system is constructed; then a structural mechanics model is established; maximum rotation angles of the basic top rock beams under the four conditions of being limited by the allowable deformation of the anchored coal body of the solidcoal side, the allowable deformation amount of a gob-side filling body, the section service requirement of the gob-side entry retaining roadway and the maximum deformation amount of gangue in the gobare obtained according to the mechanical model; the gob-side entry retaining surrounding rock support is quantitatively designed according to the relative sizes of maximum rotation angles of the basic top rock beams under the four conditions.
