The three-dimensional porous aluminum cathode comprises porous aluminum deposited on a non-metallic three-dimensional substrate, porous aluminum deposited on a metallic three-dimensional substrate, three-dimensionalporous aluminum with a surface coated with a protective layer and an alloyed three-dimensional porous aluminum material. Through control over a spatial structure, a porous structure and the specific surface area of the three-dimensional porous aluminum, interface protection and alloyed modification, the electrochemical reaction efficiency and dynamics of a battery are optimized, the electrochemical stability of the aluminum cathode is improved, and therefore the specific capacity, multiplying power, cycle life and other key properties of a typical aluminum battery are improved.
