Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to an operating method for a powertrain of a hybrid vehicle having an internal combustion engine (20), an electric drive machine (21), and a rechargeable electric energy storageunit (26) for supplying the electric drive machine (21) with energy. The method is provided for controlling the powertrain in a zero-emission mode, in which the internal combustion engine (20) is deactivated and the electric drive machine (21) is used as the drive, and in an emission mode, in which the internal combustion engine (20) is operated in a fueled operation. A start command for the internal combustion engine is ascertained using the operating method for a system-initiated operating mode switch from the zero-emission mode to the emission mode.
