The invention provides an AE (Automatic Exposure) adjustment method for high speed movement. The method comprises the steps of recording current brightness information of an image, wherein the brightness information comprises current exposure, current average brightness and current target brightness; computing a deviation rate of the average brightness relative to the target brightness; judging whether the deviation rate is greater than 2% or not, and comparing the target brightness with the average brightness if the deviation rate is greater than 2%; and increasing the exposure if the targetbrightness is greater than the average brightness, thereby enabling the deviation rate to be smaller than or equal to 2%, and reducing the exposure if the target brightness is smaller than the averagebrightness, thereby enabling the deviation rate to be smaller than or equal to 2%.
