Method and system for switching PTN (Packet Transport Network) network element into SPTN network element

The invention provides a method and system for switching a PTN (Packet Transport Network) network element into an SPTN network element. The method comprises the steps of updating a software version into the software version supported by the SPTN network element when network equipment is the PTN network element; converting local configuration data into configuration data consistent with an SPTN standard, and generating a business model for business data, wherein the business model is composed of group table entries and flow table entries; reporting corresponding data to an SPTN controller whena request which is issued by the SPTN controller and is used for querying the business data and equipment management data, thereby enabling the SPTN controller to carry out data recovery; and deletinglocally stored configuration data when recovered data sent by the SPTN controller is received, storing the data recovered by the SPTN controller, and switching to the SPTN network element.
