The invention relates to a method and device for rapidly detecting contents of formaldehyde in textiles. The method comprises the following steps of: preparing sulfuric acid water solution by 35-45 parts of sulfuric acid and 35-40 parts of water by weight, and adding 0.5-1.5 parts of phenylhydrazine and 15-20 parts of water by weight to prepare first solution; dissolving 8-12 parts of anhydrous ferric chloride by weight in 88-92 parts of water by weight to prepare second solution; placing white absorbent paper on a glassware and placing a to-be-detected textile fabric on the white absorbent paper; infiltrating the to-be-detected textile fabric by the first solution and adding the second solution to the infiltrated part of the fabric; after a certain time, checking the color change of the white absorbent paper; and if the color is red, determining that the content of formaldehyde is above 30 ppm.
