The invention discloses an elevator door lock device with an independent driving function and an unlocking method thereof. The compensation capability of the locking of an existing elevator door lockwhen the locking effectiveness of the door lock is reduced during use of the elevator door lock is poor. According to the elevator door lock device, an eccentric shaft is driven by a motor; an eccentric wheel and a flywheel are fixed to the eccentric shaft; a movable locking arm is hinged to a locking arm frame; the middle of the arm with double claws of the movable locking arm is hinged to one end of a connecting rod of the eccentric wheel, and the other end of the connecting rod of the eccentric wheel is eccentrically hinged to the eccentric wheel; a threaded hole which is formed in the armwith the double claws of the movable locking arm is connected with a bolt, and the bolt passes through a center hole of a check ring; the check ring is fixed to a door hanging plate; a reset spring sleeves the bolt, and both e
