A gene has a nucleotide sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO: 1 or a nucleotide sequence complementary with the nucleotide sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO: 1. The invention further discloses a method for preparing the alkane generating key gene muton by taking a plasmid pEASY-1594-1711 constructed by a wild alkane generating key gene derived from blue algae as a template and an application of the alkane generating key gene muton.
