Zusammenfassung:To provide a technique whereby flicker and other display defects can be suppressed without restricting the arrangement of data lines in a liquid crystal display device having a non-rectangular displayregion. The liquid crystal display device is provided with an active matrix substrate (10), an opposing substrate, and a liquid crystal layer. The active matrix substrate (10) is provided with a plurality of gate lines (11) and a plurality of data lines (12). Pixel electrodes (14) are disposed in pixels defined by the gate lines (11) and the data lines (12), and a shared electrode (15) is provided in a display region (R). A capacitance formation part (C) for forming a capacitance between the shared electrode and a portion of the gate lines (11) from among the plurality of gate lines (11) is provided on an outside of the display region (R).
