The natural gas combustion system of the glass melting furnace comprises a plurality of small natural gas furnaces, natural gas spray guns, safety shut-off valves, flow regulating valves, reversing valves, flow meters, a flue gas interchanger and a control system, wherein the small natural gas furnaces are internally provided with injection starting valves. After fire exchange is completed, the control system controls each small natural gas furnace to perform grouped and segmented injection starting.
