The invention provides a detection system suitable for a relay protection device. The system comprises a man-machine interaction module, an I/O control module, a test tooling, a communication detection module, a static detection module and a dynamic simulation detection module. The modules are connected to an Ethernet communication bus. The man-machine interaction module sends a relay protection test case and a configuration file to the I/O control module, the communication detection module, the dynamic simulation detection module, and the static detection module. The I/O control module sendsan analog quantity and/or a switching value to a protection device to be tested, carries out dynamical and static detection on the relay protection device to be tested, and then sends protection displacement information to the communication detection module so as to carry out protocol consistency detection. A detection result is sent to the man-machine interaction module. In the invention, the detection requirement of the
