The method comprises the steps of (S1) placing the casing of the automobile speed reducer on a workbench, (S2) fixing the casing of the automobile speed reducer to the workbench through a fixture on the workbench, (S3) measuring the volume of the casing of the automobile speed reducer and selecting an average value, (S4) opening an airtightness detection hole of the casing of the automobile speed reducer, and (S5) injecting high-pressure gas into the interior of the automobile speed reducer casing through the airtightness detection hole by using a high-pressure gas injection device. By using the above mode, the detection of the detecting the airtightness of the casing of the automobile speed reducer is reduced, therefore, the detection cost is reduced for an enterprise, the detection is carriedout by the high-pressure
