The CoO electrode material with nanowall structure formed by stacking porous two-dimensional sheets is prepared by: adding Co(NO3)2 6H2O and 2-methylimidazole into methanol solvent in a molar ratio of 1:(2-4), stirring continuously to form a clear solution, transferring the clear solution to a reactor, placing the reactor in an oven, allowing reacting to occur at 100-180 DEG C, and cooling to room temperature to obtain a reaction product;centrifuging the reaction product, washing, and then drying to obtain a precursor; adding the precursor into a tubular furnace, and heating in nitrogen for thermal treatment at 300-400 DEG C.
