PUMP MONITORING

Disclosed is a pump system comprising a pump and a sensor. The pump comprises a pump casing defining a pump chamber, an inlet for receipt of flowable material into the chamber, an outlet for dischargeof flowable material from the chamber, and an impeller disposed within the pump chamber to accelerate flowable material within the pump chamber. The pump also comprises a transition region extendingbetween an inner peripheral surface of the pump chamber and an inner peripheral surface of the outlet, the transition region configured in use to divert flowable material accelerated by the impeller to the outlet.
