THERMOLYTIC FRAGMENTATION OF SUGARS

A process for large scale and energy efficient production of oxygenates from sugar is disclosed in which a sugar feedstock is introduced into a thermolytic fragmentation reactor comprising a fluidizedstream of heat carrying particles.
