A printer (10) is provided with: a first cartridge holder (30A) in which is formed a first insertion opening (30AH), which is open in the horizontal direction, through which a first ink cartridge (31), which accommodates a first ink pack (33) filled with sedimented ink, is inserted, said first cartridge holder (30A) accommodating the inserted first ink cartridge (31); a first spindle (40A) that rotatably supports the first cartridge holder (30A); a first drive mechanism (42) that rotates the first cartridge holder (30A) around the first spindle (40A); and a control device (60) that controls the first drive mechanism (42).
