IMAGING METHOD FOR DETERMINING STRAY FIBERS

The present invention is directed to a method of detecting stray fibers emanating from a substrate comprising: a) Taking an image or a series of consecutive images of stray fibers in front of a contrasted background, that is created using one or more light sources, using a digital device; b) Segmenting of stray fibers and background from objects not directly contrasted against the background resulting in a binary image mask; c) Applying an edge detection technique to the image or modification of original image to enhance contrast of stray fibers against the background; and Applying the binaryimage mask from step b) to an image created in step c) to create an image in which only the stray fibers and/or outline of any other object contrasted against the background are present. 本发明涉及种检测来源于基材的杂散纤维的方法，该方法包括：a)使用数字装置在对比背景前方拍摄杂散纤维的个图像或系列连续图像，该图像使用个或多个光源产生；b)将杂散纤维和背景与不直接与背景形成对比的对象分割开，从而得到二进制图像掩模；c)将边缘检测技术应用到图像或原始图像的修改以增强杂散纤维与背景的对比度；以及将来自步骤b)的二进制图像掩模应用到在步骤c)中产生的图像以产生以下图像：其中仅存在与背景形成对比的杂散纤维和/或任何其它对象的轮廓。
