The step voltage detection method uses a remote control type step voltage alarm trolley; and the remote control type step voltage alarm trolleycomprises a remote control and a controller that is located on the remote control trolley body and wirelessly connected to the remote control trolley body. The remote control trolley body is a front-rear length adjustable structure, and one of the front and rear wheels is a metal wheel structure. The step voltage detection method comprises the following steps: adjusting a detection step size of the remote control trolley body first; then setting an alarm voltage; and finally, using the remote control to remotely control the trolley body to advance and detect, and it indicates that the step voltage exceeds the set value if an alarm is issued. The step voltage detection method can detect from far to near around a faulty device, which greatly reduces the occurrence of personal electric shockcasualty accidents.
