Method and system for monitoring pipeline

The invention provides a method and a system for monitoring a pipeline. The method for monitoring the pipeline comprises the step of outputting an alarm signal when pipeline sedimentation and/or pipeline sinking are/is monitored. Specifically, when pipeline sedimentation is detected, the alarm signal is outputted in the manner of calculating an allowable section bending moment of the pipeline according to an anti-bending section modulus of the pipeline and an equivalent stress of the pipeline, calculating the sedimentation deflection of the pipeline according to the allowable section bending moment and outputting the alarm signal for pipeline sedimentation when the sedimentation deflection is more than a preset deflection.
