The invention discloses a soil erosion rate monitoring method which comprises the following steps: (1) mounting a plurality of erosion scaleplates having the same structure in a to-be-detected area and numbering the erosion scaleplates sequentially, wherein each erosion scaleplate comprises a fixed ruler and a sliding ruler movably mounted on the fixed ruler, the fixed ruler is vertically mountedon soil, zero scale of the sliding ruler is aligned to the top of the fixed ruler, a scale is marked on the zero scale of the sliding ruler upward; (2) reading data according to the monitoring time and the number, wherein the data is data where the sliding ruler is located at the top of the fixed ruler; (3) calculating the soil erosion amount according to the read data.
