The invention discloses a metal casing of communication equipment, and a preparation method thereof. The metal casing of communication equipment includes a metal substrate, slits, a plastic support layer covering at least one portion of the inner surface of the metal substrate, and filling members, wherein the slits penetrate the metal substrate and do not penetrate the plastic support layer, andthe cross-sectional shape of a portion, located in the plastic support layer, of each slit is one or more of an inverted cone shape, an arc shape, a rectangular shape, and an inverted trapezoid shape;the filling members fill the slits and are obtained by curing of adhesives; and the viscosity of the adhesives at 25 DEG C is 2000 to 14000 mPas. The inner and outer surfaces of the metal casing of communication equipment are flat, so that generation of grooves and air bubbles can be avoided when the metal casing of communication equipment is further used in the surface decoration process; and the slits are not deformed,
