An embodiment of the present application discloses a method for updating data. The method comprises: obtaining a data updating request, wherein the data updating request comprises a first identification corresponding to a content to be updated and hosted data for updating the content to be updated and the hosted data is data hosted by a data provider to a data hosting party; judging whether the second identifier corresponding to the stored managed data is the same as the first identifier; if the same, updating the content to be updated into the stored hosted data, and updating the identifier corresponding to the hosted data from the second identifier to the third identifier.
