Message retransmission method and apparatus

The present invention provides a message retransmission method and apparatus. The method comprises: determining a retransmission timeout period RTO according to a first timeout period, wherein the first timeout period is the maximum time for which a first network device maintains the neighbor relationship in the case of not receiving a message sent by a second network device; and performing message retransmission for the second network device based on the RTO.
