The water area cleaning robot comprises a drive device, at least one buoyancy force device and a filtering barrel. The drive device comprises a shell, a drainage mechanism and a main control chip. An output shaft of a drainage motor of the drainage mechanism extends out ofa bottom through hole of the shell and is connected with drainage spiral blades. The buoyancy force devices are connected with the shell through first connecting rods. The filtering barrel comprises abarrel body and a filter screen. The barrel body is connected with the shell through a second connecting rod. A water input opening is formed in the face, facing the shell, of the barrel body. The filter screen is horizontally arranged on the lower half portion of the barrel body, and a gap is reserved between the filter screen and the bottom of the barrel body.
