The novel architectural coating comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight:basalt powder, diatomite, Songhua stone powder, shell powder, nano-zinc oxide, nano titania, aggregate, an inorganic gelatinous substance, a filler, pigments, a boric ester coupling agent, a coating dispersing agent, an antioxidant, a brightener, silica sol and a film-forming agent. The preparation method comprises the following steps: preparing stock, grinding, raising the temperature and fusing,standing and molding. Due to the addition of the basalt powder, the novel architectural coating disclosed by the invention has pressure resistance, water resistance, high temperature resistance, alkali resistance, pollution resistance and corrosion resistance.
