The method comprises: a terminal receiving a communications connection request of a vehicle-mounted device; during the process of said terminal connecting to an Internet protocol service, activating a communications mode corresponding to said communications connection request; if the terminal determines that the connection is successful and determines that activation of the communications mode is successful, then the terminal determines the connection with the vehicle-mounted device by means of the Internet protocol to have been successful. Using the embodiments of the present application, it is possible to shorten the time for a terminal and a vehicle-mounted device to establish a connection, thus improving connection efficiency between the terminal and vehicle-mounted device. 本文公开种设备连接方法和终端。所述方法包括：终端接收到车载设备的通信连接请求；所述终端在连接所述互联协议的服务的过程中，开启与所述通信连接请求对应的通信模式；所述终端在确定成功连接所述服务并且确定成功开启所述通信模式的情况下，确定与所述车载设备通过互联协议连接成功。采用本申请实施例，可以缩短终端和车载设备建立连接的时间，提升终端与车载设备的连接效率。
