An end plate for a rotor of a switched reluctance motor is disclosed. The end plate includes an annular body and a plurality of ribs. The annular body has a first axial end, a second axial end, and athickness. Further, the annular body defines an outer surface and a bore configured to receive a shaft of the rotor. The plurality of ribs extends radially outwardly from the outer surface.
