According to the positioning method, the positioning device acquires the first positioning data of the position at which the positioning device is positioned through a sensor; the first area map of the area at which the positioning device is positioned is generated according to the firstpositioning data; the first area map is subjected to local matching in a global map; and if the first matching result of the local matching of the first area map in the global map is greater than or equal to a preset threshold, the positioning device determines the position of the positioning device according to the first matching result.
