The method comprises the following steps of: preprocessing geographic PDF map data to ensure that map surface contents of geographic PDF maps, sheets of which are adjacent, can keep space reference consistency; selecting a to-be-printed geographic PDF map data range on the basis of an index to adjoining sheets; retrieving a geographic PDF map file; an extracting corresponding contents in geographic PDF maps, the sheets of which are different, via a set grid according to a set geographic PDF map printing layout and page printing parameters; and directly carrying out page printing on a printer and carrying out output under assistance of necessary elements. The method is large in printing range, supports tocross-sheet select large-scale map contents in effective ranges of geographic PDF map data in same projection zones to carry out printing and output, and is capable of improving the page edge connection precision for splicing
