The method includes the steps of collecting real-time data of the smelting process of the electric smelting magnesium furnace, establishing a smelting process electrode current mechanism model according to the rotating frequency of the motor and the electrode current, eliminating the influence of the change rate of the high-order nonlinear terms by designing a compensatorfor eliminating tracking errors, obtaining a electric smelting magnesium furnace electrode current controller which is composed of a PID controller, a previous-stage high-order nonlinear term compensator and a high-order nonlinear term change rate compensator. According to the method, the current control precision can be improved, and the process requirements can be met.
