Zusammenfassung:The present invention provides a lithium ion secondary battery separator superior in heat resistance, which is hard to cause an internal short circuit even under a high-temperature condition, and which can exhibit a separator function with stability even when arranged to be thin in separator thickness, to improve the output characteristics of a lithium ion secondary battery by using the separator,and to manufacture a separator stable in performance with good productivity by forming a uniform inorganic coating film in such a way that a defect, such as a pin hole is produced in the inorganic coating layer. A lithium ion secondary battery separator comprises: a plastic nonwoven fabric; and an inorganic coating layer provided on a surface of the plastic nonwoven fabric. The plastic nonwoven fabric includes synthetic fibers which are 1-10 [Mu]m in average fiber diameter, and 1-20 [Mu]m in average pore diameter (a).
