The large zoom lens automatic focusing method comprises the steps of: acquiring position information of a zoom lens group of a large zoom lens, determining whether the zoom lens group is in a long-focus range, acquiring an image corresponding to the position if the zoom lens group is in a long-focus range, and performing clear focusing processing or fuzzy focusing processing on the zoom lens group correspondingly according to whether the image is clear; otherwise, performing wide-angle focusing processing on the zoom lens group. The large zoom lens automatic focusing method and the system realize focusing of nearby scene through performing wide-angle focusing processing, improve the focusing speed and accuracy degree by selecting clear focusing processing or fuzzy focusing processing, and reduce the fuzzy time of the image during the focusing process.
