The invention discloses a backlight assembly, backlight module, display device and controlling method thereof, wherein the backlight assembly is connected with a controlling module, and the backlightassembly comprises a plurality of lamp beads; the lamp beads comprise a plurality of independently controlled luminous bodies, and the luminous bodies are connected with the controlling module; the lamp beads also comprises a toner which arranged at the light-emitting side of the luminous bodies, and the luminous bodies in the same lamp beads emit light under the control of the controlling module,then the toner is stimulated by the light to produce light whose wavelength is different while the brightness is in the same.
