The invention discloses a method and system for transmitting contact information. The method comprises the steps that a registered user A of a set site sends an instruction to a server of the set siteand requires transmitting own contact information to a user B; the server of the set site receives the request of the user A and then carries out search in all registered users of the set site according to the information which is contained in the instruction and can be used for determining an identity of the user B; if the registered user consistent with the identity information submitted by theuser A can be searched, the server of the set site informs the user A that one or more registered users consistent with the identity information of the user B submitted by the user A are searched andrequests the user A to carry out selection and confirmation; and after the user A carries out confirmation, partial or all contact information appointed by the user A is sent to the registered user B, and a message is informed
