The present invention relates to a circuit for reading image compression data. The circuit for reading image compression data comprises a coefficient obtaining unit, a coordinate calculation unit, a compression block header information obtaining unit and a compression data obtaining unit; the coefficient obtaining unit reads mapping coefficients of an output image block and an original image block; the coordinate calculation unit divides the original image into unit blocks with M*N pixels, M and N are positive integer being larger than 1, and the mapping relations are employed to calculate coordinates of the unit blocks of the original image corresponding to an image line; the compression block header information obtaining unit generates header information addresses of compression blocks of the unit blocks according to the coordinates of the unit blocks of the original image corresponding to the image line, and reads the header information of the compression blocks according to the header information addresse
