Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a brake booster (1) for a master brake cylinder of a motor vehicle, comprising a drive motor (2) which is connected or can be connected to a pressure piston for the master brake cylinder by means of a transmission (3). The transmission (3) has a rotatable spindle nut (6) with an internal thread (7) and a rotationally fixed, axially movable spindle rod with an external thread (5). The threads (5, 7) engage into each other in order to convert a rotational movement of the drive motor (2) into a translational movement of the spindle rod in order to displace the pressure piston (4). The spindle nut (6) has an external toothing (10) which engages with an internal toothing (13) of a transmission (3) drive ring gear (12) arranged coaxially to the spindle nut (6), the spindle nut (6) can be moved axially relative to the drive ring gear (12), and tooth flanks of the teeth of the internal toothing (13) and the external toothing (10) extend axially up to at least one firsttooth flank (18) of at l
