OVERTURN PREVENTION DEVICE

Provided is an overturn prevention device with which an article can be successfully prevented from overturning with a simple structure. A damper (10) of the overturn prevention device includes a cylinder (11), a rod (13), and a spring (18). The cylinder (11) is attached between the top surface of a piece of furniture (F) mounted on a mounting surface and a ceiling (C) so that the extension/contraction direction of the cylinder forms a prescribed angle relative to the vertical direction, and one end of the cylinder has an opening (11A) which is opened and the other end has a bottom (11B) whichis closed. The rod (13) is inserted into the cylinder (11), and a distal end (13A) of the rod protrudes from the opening (11A).
