Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a current collector of an energy storage cell for storing electrical energy. The present invention relates to a current collector (10) of an energy storage cell for storing electrical energy. The current collector (10) has a contact area referred to as a tab (11) which is disposed on a first end of two opposite ends (15, 16) of the current collector (10), and configured for connecting the current collector (10) to one electrode or more common electrodes of the energy storage cell. The current collector (10) is designed in the form of a layer with a variable layer thickness (D1) in a first direction (R1). A change course of the layer thickness (D1) in the first direction (R1) corresponds to a monotonically increasing or severely and monotonically increasingfirst function with increasing distance to a second end of the two ends (15, 16). The first direction (R1) extends from the second end (16) to the first end (15) and is perpendicular to the layer thickness (D1). The distance
