The invention discloses an image processing algorithm for highlighting blood vessels. The method comprises the steps of blood vessel image capturing and blood vessel image processing. At the step of blood vessel image capturing, the skin is irradiated by infrared light; digital image information reflected by infrared light is collected; and the image is stored. At the step of blood vessel image processing, image optimizing is carried out on the stored image; blood vessels are highlighted; and a display result is output.
