Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a device for cooling synthetic yarns which are particularly twisted yarns in a deformation region. The cooling device comprises a rectangular radiator. The radiator is provided with a cooling groove used for guiding the yarns to open. The cooling groove is connected to a metering device used for supplying cooling liquid through a metering opening. Due to dynamic characteristics of yarns, a yarn inlet of the radiator comprises at least one ceramic insert in order to obtain uniform wetting and strong cooling. The ceramic insert forms a corrugated groove bottom in the cooling groove. Additionally, the yarns are guided in a contact manner on the surface of the ceramic insert. The metering opening is distributed to the ceramic insert.
