The activity regulator comprises, by the total weight of 100 parts, 30-40 parts of polyhydroxy compounds, 20-30 parts of organic salt, 5-10 parts of polyamine, 10-15 parts of modified glucoside and the balance anti-freezing agents. The activity regulator can stop osmotic hydration of mud shales, avoid mudrock hydration, maintain the original state of the wall of a well and solve the problem of difficulty in borehole wall stability of a mud shale formation.
