Positive pressure mask and related adapters, appliances, and methods

Methods for performing oral care on a person receiving positive air pressure ventilation include providing a positive air pressure mask with a self-sealing valve, inserting an oral care appliance through the self-sealing valve to perform oral care and maintaining positive pressure performing an oral care procedure. The invention also relates to a positive pressure mask that includes a mask body defining a cavity and having a peripheral seal configured to engage a wearer's face under pressure. A port in the body is configured to receive pressurized air.
