Zusammenfassung:In described examples of a method and apparatus for fast charging a battery with optimal charging, a system (400) includes a battery charger (420) for applying a voltage to a rechargeable battery (430), and a controller coupled (422) to the battery charger (420) and monitoring at least one of a battery voltage, a battery temperature and the current flowing into the battery (430). The system (400)is configured to apply a charging current from the battery charger (420) by calculating an open cell anode voltage and an anode resistance of the battery (430), and determining the charging current.
