The invention relates to a laundry care appliance (100) comprising a detergent solution container (109) for receiving washing detergent solution, a heating element (112) for heating the washing detergent solution, a drain opening (113) arranged on the detergent solution container (109) for discharging washing detergent solution, wherein the drain opening (113) is connected to a drain hose (115) and can be closed by a closure (114), wherein the drain hose (115) is connected to a detergent solution pump (121) and to a controller (129) for controlling the detergent solution pump (121). The controller (129) is designed to activate a conveying operating of the detergent solution pump (121) in a first time period, in order to convey washing detergent solution through the drain opening (113) outof the detergent solution container (109) into the drain hose (115).
